He Never Said a Mumbalin’ Word

When Jesus came before Pontius Pilate, he kept silent. See John 19:1-16. Jesus knew how it would end, but he said nothing in his own defense. He did not complain or object as events played out.

The lyrics begin with: “They crucified my Lord, and he never said a mumbalin’ word.”
